ADRA Canada visit to Ukraine: achievements and plans for further work were discussed
At the end of March, a delegation of ADRA Canada visited Ukraine on a working visit. This visit was an important stage in strengthening partnerships and evaluating joint activities within the “MHWP” humanitarian project (Mental Health, Winterization, Protection).
Since the beginning of 2025, ADRA Ukraine, in cooperation with ADRA Canada and with the funding of the Government of Canada (Global Affairs Canada), has been implementing this large-scale project to help the population affected by the war, in particular in the front-line regions. The project is aimed at supporting the most vulnerable categories of the population, providing basic needs, as well as providing psychosocial assistance.
During the visit, working meetings were held with the project team, during which they presented the key results of the project implementation, discussed the main challenges in wartime conditions and determined further steps for the effective implementation of the planned activities.
A separate meeting was held with the management of ADRA Ukraine, where the Ukrainian side presented the organization’s response strategy for 2026 to partners, as well as key areas of humanitarian activity within all current projects.
The ADRA Canada delegation was represented by the Deputy Director in International Program Samuel Ndikumana and the Project Manager in International Program Sonja Fraser. They expressed their support for the team’s activities in Ukraine, noted its importance and effectiveness, and also confirmed their interest in the further development of the partnership. The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
In addition, they jointly visited the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, with which close interaction is maintained. During the meeting, the current results of the implementation of the “MHWP” project were presented, as well as new ideas for further cooperation and expansion of support for the affected population were discussed.
ADRA Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to partners from ADRA Canada and the Government of Canada for their trust, support and joint desire to help people in this difficult time.
