Olga Leonydivna lived in Lyman, Donetsk region, with her four children and an elderly mother. On April 27, 2022, when the situation in the city had worsened due to hostilities, the woman decided to evacuate to a safer place.

 

“The main thing for me is that my children are safe. When a shell fell near my house, having damaged the roof and windows, I realized that there was no time to procrastinate. – Olga shares.  – My eldest daughter found information on the Internet about the possibility of free evacuation from the charitable fund ADRA Ukraine.  We called the indicated number, and within an hour we were taken first to Kramatorsk, and later – to Dnipro. I am very grateful to the staff of the charitable fund for their help, attention and compassion.”

 

As of February 24, 2022, ADRA Ukraine in cooperation with the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund, has provided free transportation services to residents of isolated communities in Luhansk and Donetsk regions by facilitating access of population to basic and vital services. In late February, the charitable organization was forced to refocus its transport efforts on evacuating civilians from areas of active hostilities.

 

In cooperation with UHF, ADRA staff have relocated about a thousand civilians to safer places in the past month, including people with disabilities, large families and other vulnerable people.
