For many children, powerbank is just a useful gadget. But for the participants of the ADRA Kids art therapy event in Hostomel, it has become a symbol of safety and the ability to always stay in touch with the closest relatives.

After completing the creative classes, each child received a power bank as a gift, provided with the support of RadioAid and ADRA International. The fact that the devices have a built-in clock — caused special admiration, the children were happy that now they would always know what time it was.

But they were most touched by something else. Some admitted that they were already experiencing situations when the phone ran out, and with it the connection with the parents disappeared. Therefore, the news that the power bank will help to always stay in touch has become especially important for them.

The creative art therapy event took place on July 17 at the Center for Life Sustainability of Hostomel as part of the ADRA Kids project. Its participants were 13 children from socially vulnerable categories.

During the meeting, the children participated in creative activities that help to emotionally unload, develop imagination and feel in a safe and friendly environment. Such meetings are especially important for children who have experienced difficult life circumstances, because they allow them to just be children for a while — to create, communicate and enjoy new experiences.

The ADRA Ukraine team sincerely thanks the partners — RadioAid and ADRA International, as well as everyone who supports the ADRA Kids project. It is thanks to this support that children receive not only the necessary things, but also attention, care and the feeling that they are not left alone with their difficulties.
