Alpacas, deers and five days with family: what was the children’s vacation in Dnipropetrovsk region

See alpacas and llamas up close, watch deer, ostriches and peacocks, spend the whole day in the fresh air, and most importantly — relax with the parents. For seven children from the Dnipropetrovsk region, these five days became one of the brightest events of the summer.

Within the framework of the ADRA Kids project, a five-day vacation was financed for seven children of vulnerable categories. Among them are children from large families, children of ex-combatants and children who lost their father due to the war.

The days were busy from morning to night: games, joint activities, active recreation, new acquaintances and a lot of time in the open air.

One of the features of the place was the large number of animals and birds that walked freely in the area. Deer and roe deer, alpacas and llamas, pygmy as, donkeys, ostriches, peacocks and other animals were very close. Children could watch and get to know them up close. For one of the participants, it became a completely new experience.

But the fact that the children rested with their parents also made these five days special. Instead of the usual daily routine, families could spend more time together, join joint activities, communicate and accumulate not only children’s, but also family memories.

For many participants, this trip was the only opportunity to relax during the summer. Therefore, according to the figure «7 children», there are much more: five busy days, meeting new people and places, time with the closest ones and the impressions that the children took home with them.

Through ADRA Kids, children are given opportunities not only to learn and participate in psychosocial activities, but also to relax, discover new things and spend more time with their families.

We want other children who need support today to receive such opportunities.

You can join the ADRA Kids fundraising at the link. Each contribution helps to create new opportunities for children to rest, develop and time together with those closest to them.
