ADRA Latvia supported the ADRA Kids project: the children of Sloviansk received gifts
On February 16, ADRA Ukraine, within the framework of the ADRA Kids project, delivered 20 gifts purchased for donations collected by ADRA Latvia to the children of the front-line city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region. Due to the security situation and the inability to gather children for a joint event, but having a great desire to support this region, the team decided to give gifts to each child at home.
«It was important for us that warmth and care reached each family personally, — is told by representatives of the project team. — The emotions of these meetings are difficult to convey in words. Sincere smiles, hugs, joy in the eyes of children, all this once again reminded how important it is not to leave them alone with the challenges of war. We still get feedback from parents with words of appreciation that inspire to continue this mission».
Supporting children in frontline communities is more than gifts. It’s a sense of care, a sign that they’re remembered for being important. In difficult conditions, even a small display of attention helps children to keep faith in goodness, feel safe and hopeful.
ADRA Ukraine sincerely thanks everyone who supports the ADRA Kids project: partners (in particular, ADRA Latvia), philanthropists and all people with open hearts. Thanks to your concern, we can be close to children where it is most needed.
