A place where ex-combatants can get assistance: a new Center has opened in Zhytomyr
Returning to a peaceful life after a war — is not just a matter of physical recovery. Often, ex-combatants and their families need psychological support, legal advice, or the help of a doctor. This is why a new Ex-combatants Support Center was opened in Zhytomyr.

Here, ex-combatants, members of their families, as well as families of fallen soldiers can receive psychological, psychotherapeutic, psychiatric and legal assistance free of charge.
The opening of the Center was attended by the head of the Department of Ex-combatants Policy of Zhytomyr Denys Sokolovskyi, representatives of the Zhytomyr City Council, ex-combatants, project partners and specialists in the field of mental health.

The center was the result of cooperation between «Healthy 360» LLC, the ADRA Ukraine charitable foundation and the public organization «Mission to Live». By combining the resources of business, the public sector, charitable organizations and the state, the partners created a space where help can be obtained in one place.

During the opening, the guests were presented with a team of specialists and told how the Center will work. Individual psychological consultations, psychotherapy, family counseling, group support programs, psychiatrist consultations and legal support will be held here.

The Center’s team includes 45 psychologists and psychotherapists of various fields, as well as a psychiatrist and lawyers. This allows for comprehensive support for ex-combatants and their families, taking into account the different needs they can address.

Partial funding of certain areas of work is provided by the Ministry of Ex-combatants Affairs of Ukraine.
The new Center, which opened at Velyka Berdychivska, 49A, is another step towards making professional assistance closer and more accessible to those who defended Ukraine. Here, people will be able to get not only a specialist’s consultation, but also feel that they have not been left alone with their challenges.
