ADRA Ukraine and Ukrainian Deminers Association summarized a joint project on mine safety
On May 7 in the city of Vorzel, located in the Kyiv region, held a seminar on summing up the results of the project named «Comprehensive training on mine danger and assistance to victims in conflict-affected communities in the front-line and de-occupied regions of Ukraine».
The event brought together representatives of ADRA Ukraine and NGO «Ukrainian Deminers Association» (UDA) to exchange experience, present project results and discuss further steps to support the population in the affected communities.
On the part of ADRA Ukraine, the head of ADRA Ukraine Andrii Babientsov and head of the ADRA’s psychological service Anna Matvienko took part in the meeting. Ukrainian Deminers Association was represented by Chairman of the Board Timur Pistriuha and Project Manager Iryna Hutsalo.
The participants got acquainted with the results of activities in the field of informing the population about the risks of mine danger, providing first aid for mine-explosive injuries, as well as with the MHPSS component of support for victims. Particular attention was paid to non-traumatic communication and features of working with people who survived the consequences of explosive incidents.
Such seminars are a platform for strengthening cooperation, sharing practical experience and developing effective assistance to communities of Ukraine.
