ADRA Ukraine took part in a workshop of partners of Polish Humanitarian Action
On June 16, the workshop «Humanitarian Partnership to support conflict-affected people in Ukraine» was held in Kyiv, which brought together 22 partner organizations of Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH). The event was attended by the teams of the headquarters and Kyiv representative office of PAH, as well as representatives of the Government of the United States of America.

The meeting provided a platform for sharing experiences, discussing current humanitarian response challenges and enhancing cooperation among local organizations.
ADRA Ukraine’s financial controller Ivan Triukhanov took part in the event.

The workshop began with a panel discussion with the participation of representatives of the PAH headquarters and the organization’s team in Ukraine. Speakers talked about current trends in international support for Ukraine, priority areas of humanitarian response and criteria by which PAH, together with US government structures, plans to support humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine.

During the discussion, considerable attention was paid to the challenges faced by humanitarian organizations during the implementation of projects. Among the key topics were changes in the humanitarian response plan, transformation of individual cash assistance mechanisms, updating of vulnerability criteria to identify beneficiaries, deterioration of the security situation, etc.

A separate block was devoted to the topic of professional burnout and maintenance of mental health of humanitarian sector employees. Participants were presented with practices implemented by international organizations to support the psychological well-being of teams.

In the second part of the event, an interactive session dedicated to adaptability to change took place. Working in groups, the participants identified the main challenges that arise during the implementation of projects in Ukraine, and also worked out possible ways of responding to them.

After the presentation of the results of the groups’ work, PAH representatives shared their own vision of these challenges and approaches to overcoming them. The final stage was an open exchange of experience between partners. Participants shared examples of cooperation with PAH throughout 2023–2025, expressed gratitude for the partnership and discussed prospects for further interaction.

The event also provided an opportunity for informal communication, acquaintance between organizations, exchange of contacts and useful professional information.

This publication and the assistance it refers to were made possible by the generous support of the Government of the United States of America in cooperation with Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH). The content is the responsibility of ADRA Ukraine and does not necessarily reflect the views of the US Government.
