At the BRIDGE Forum meeting, representatives of state and non-governmental structures discussed challenges for humanitarian aid in Ukraine
The meeting for the charitable and humanitarian sector of Ukraine called “BRIDGE Forum” took place on November 26 in Kyiv. The event brought together representatives of international and Ukrainian organizations, state structures, local authorities, diplomats, businesses and experts. Maryna Savchuk, program director of the organization, took part in the event from ADRA Ukraine.
The forum became a platform for discussing key challenges shaping the future system of humanitarian aid in Ukraine. The focus was on issues of effective coordination, strengthening the role of local organizations, transparency of decisions and implementation of modern technological tools that can improve the quality of public support.
The meeting was opened by Matthias Schmale — Coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine and Humanitarian Coordinator. Among the speakers of the forum were also: Andrea De Domenico, head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine, David White, manager of the UHF fund, Felix Baumann, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Ukraine and Moldova, as well as other respected officials and experts.
During the thematic blocks, systemic interaction in crisis conditions, implementation of an international humanitarian-target platform for non-governmental organizations, opportunities for consultations with partners, establishment of strategic contacts and creation of new coalitions were discussed.
The participants also discussed the renewal of the humanitarian architecture, ethical and operational standards of work in risk areas, as well as interaction with the private sector and features of professional communication with business.
The representative of ADRA Ukraine noted the high level at which the event took place, for which she expressed her gratitude to Yevhen Kolyada, the organizer, chairman of the board of the «Coordination Humanitarian Center».
