ADRA Ukraine actively implements the project on emergency food assistance to the affected population of Ukraine with the support of the UN World Food Program (WFP). On July 8, a planned distribution of supplemented general purpose food assistance kits took place in Makariv village, Kyiv region. Bridget A. Brink, an US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine, Matthew Hollingworth, an UN World Food Program Emergency Coordinator in Ukraine and other representatives of the organization and authorized persons of the village Council were present at the event. A total of 539 kits weighing 17.4 kg each have been distributed. Elderly people, families with children and large families, people with disabilities and all other categories of the population who, due to the difficult situation in the country, need support have received assistance.

The project with the support of WFP started in early April 2022. As of today, the project on food assistance is implemented: distribution of basic necessity kits (over 77,200 kits have been distributed), fresh bread (over 4,412,000 loaves of bread), supplemented general purpose food assistance kits (about 293,000 kits), baby food for children aged 6 to 23 months (over 32,700 boxes have been distributed).

The project with the support of the UN World Food Program operates in more than 10 regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
