«Our greatest need — is drinking water», — the story of Vitalii Haliuk from Mykolaiv region
Vitalii Haliuk — deputy village head of the Bereznehuvate community for the Activities of Executive Bodies. He is responsible for the life of the village and its residents. That is why he decided to turn to ADRA Ukraine, because recently there is one need that prevents people from calmly building their lives, — is the lack of normal water supply.
«Our water supply has been deteriorating in recent years. Every year the problem becomes more and more global», — says the man.
Currently, there is a significant drought in this region, which leads to a decrease in the level of groundwater and a deterioration in water quality. This poses serious challenges for providing the population with the necessary resources, as well as for the normal functioning of schools and children’s institutions.
This problem not only affects adults, but also children and people of retirement age.
«Our greatest need — is drinking water», — the village head notes.
It’s hard to believe: nowadays, when the world is developing and has a lot of technology, — someone still needs ordinary drinking water.
Previously, ADRA Ukraine already helped the community, and thanks to this, it was possible to partially solve the problem. Some schools and kindergartens were provided with drinking water, but ordinary villagers still face this problem every day.

«We have already installed four water purification stations in educational institutions. And now two more have been installed. That is, a total of — six water purification stations», — says Vitalii.

Although much work has already been done, many needs remain open. Residents of the community hope for support. People cannot live normally without such help, otherwise water shortages can lead to health problems and reduced quality of life. Providing drinking water is a vital need for every individual.

«We are sincerely grateful for the help already provided and fruitful cooperation with ADRA and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I think that with joint efforts we will achieve great results and maximize the life and health of the population of our community!» — Vitalii Haliuk.
