In the Bashtansky district of the Mykolaiv region, ADRA Ukraine installed drinking water purification stations. The main sponsor of this project is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The equipment is installed at 14 locations, two of which are hospitals, and the rest are preschool education institutions, gymnasiums and lyceums.

The equipment is mounted in hospitals in the village Kazanka and Berezneguvate. Settlements where the stations were installed in educational institutions: the city of Snigurivka, the villages of Berezneguvate, Vysunsk, Vilne Zaporizhzhia, Kaluga, Shevchenkove-2, Pavlivka, Yurievka, Kalinivka. In two locations final quality checks of equipment are still ongoing, all other stations are already operating.

In addition, work continues on the installation of a purification station at the 15th location – in the village of Galaganivka, Snigurivsky district, Mykolaiv region. Launch is scheduled for mid-October.

Direct beneficiaries of the project are students and teachers of educational institutions, in hospitals – hospital patients. Access points to purified drinking water are mounted in food blocks so that cooks can prepare food for children using high-quality drinking water and in the canteens, so that you can use clean, high-quality water. Also, local residents of settlements can come and get quality water for free. Access points are placed on the facades of these institutions.

A water purification project sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has become necessary due to deteriorating water quality following the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam. This disaster negatively affected almost the entire South of Ukraine. The installation of stations improves the operation of food blocks in schools. This has a positive effect on the launch of the educational process in a mixed form of learning. Local authorities are very concerned about their students, their health and socialization. Children want to return to a normal, safe life and educational process, to have communication with friends.

Remote learning is a necessary response to local authorities after the full-scale invasion. The restoration of the educational infrastructure of the region makes it possible for local residents to return to normal life.
