A hospital in Dnipropetrovsk region received a new borehole for stable water supply
In the city of Samar, Dnipropetrovsk region, the ADRA Ukraine team drilled a borehole and installed additional equipment for the Central Regional Hospital for Intensive Treatment of the Samarivskyi district. The work was carried out within the framework of the WMTW project, which is implemented with the support of Aktion Deutschland Hilft, ADRA Czech Republic and ADRA Germany.
This decision is of particular importance for a medical institution that works in the front-line area and provides assistance to a large number of people every day. There are 12 inpatient departments with 460 beds and 5 operating rooms on the territory of the hospital, and residents of six communities receive services here: Hubynyska, Pishchanska, Cherkaska, Pereshchepynska, Lychkivska and Chernechchynska. In total, it is about 165,315 people and the establishment is provided with 640 employees.
The new borehole will make it possible to increase the autonomy of the hospital in conditions of blackouts and interruptions in the centralized water supply. In times of war and persistent risks to critical infrastructure, having its own stable water source is critical for the continuous operation of departments and operating rooms, compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements, and ensuring the safety of patients and medical personnel.
