Recently, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), with the charity organization ADRA Ukraine, with the financial support of the German government under the project ” Improvement of WASH conditions in decentralized water supply system in Volnovakha rayon, Nikolske rayon, Mariinka rayon and Mangush rayon in Donetsk region”, completed the installation of the Rozhnovsky water tower for 215 thousand hryvnias in the village of Maksimovka, where currently 670 people live.
The old water tower, which was almost 30 years old, was the only one in the whole village and was in an emergency. Repairs no longer yielded results, because every time new cracks appeared. As a result, the tower was unsuitable for the needs of the inhabitants in water supply. So the local authorities submitted an application for assistance under our project and were looking forward to the result.
The team of specialists from the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and ADRA Ukraine visited the village to assess the state of the tower and it was decided to replace the worn-out water tower with a new one. Thus, in order to set up water supply in Maximovka, a new water tower Rozhnovsky was installed with a volume of 25 cubic meters.
