On April 23, a working meeting of the team of the JPF7 project, which is implemented by ADRA Ukraine with the support of Japan Platform and ADRA Japan, took place with the leadership of the Coordination Humanitarian Center (CHC) of the Zaporizhzhia region. The parties discussed potential directions for further cooperation, in particular urgent needs and ongoing projects in the region.

The JPF7 project started in April 2026 and is aimed at supporting the most vulnerable population groups in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, in particular in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The project provides for the provision of multi-purpose monetary assistance, psychological and legal support, as well as training on first psychological assistance for specialists in the social sphere.

Project manager of ADRA Ukraine Anastasiia Varfolomieieva and field officer Maryna Sokolova took part in the meeting.

In view of the successful two-year experience of cooperation in the field of non-monetary (in-kind) assistance in previous JPF projects, representatives of the CHC expressed interest in deepening the partnership.

During the meeting, the key areas of interaction were outlined. They cover emergency response (evacuation, transit centres, social support), housing and shelter support, protection of affected populations, as well as humanitarian assistance in front-line communities.

Particular attention was paid to the coordination of resources and the exchange of information. CHC is ready to provide up-to-date needs assessments, share data on community requests and partner presence in the region to identify gaps and avoid duplication of assistance.

Among the practical areas of cooperation, support for water infrastructure (WASH), provision of food and hygiene kits, repairs in hospitals and temporary shelters, as well as preparation for the winter period are identified. The possibility of developing social transport services for communities with damaged infrastructure is also being considered.

ADRA Ukraine’s partnership with the Zaporizhzhia region CHC opens access to verified analytics and can strengthen the coordination of humanitarian aid in the front-line region.
