The ADRA Ukraine team visited several settlements in three regions of Ukraine, where they handed over a total of 45 wheelchairs to people with disabilities and veterans*. Assistance was provided within the framework of the “Wheelchairs Foundation 2025” project with the support of the donor “Chair The Love” (USA).

In the city of Kremenets, Ternopil region, the distribution took place on the basis of the Center for the Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities. During the visit, the team handed over about 17 chairs, another part was distributed by the Center itself among its patients, who later reported on receiving care.

The team also visited people who live in villages near the city of Kremenets and could not come on their own due to mobility restrictions. They also got their chairs at home. In total, 25 wheelchairs were distributed in Kremenets and surrounding settlements.

Next, the humanitarian team visited homes for the elderly in the villages of Berezhtsi and Katerynivka, where they handed over 10 and 8 chairs for the wards of these institutions, respectively.

The next location was the city of Dubno, Rivne region, where the maternity hospital received help. The medical facility requested that seats be provided for the transportation of female patients, as these models have soft inflatable wheels that provide comfort when transporting women in postpartum or difficult condition. The hospital received 10 such wheelchairs.

The final point of the visit was the Svalyavsk City Hospital in Zakarpattia region. About 16 chairs were distributed there to veterans and mobility impaired patients undergoing rehabilitation. People received help directly at the hospital, thanked for their support and shared words of gratitude for improving their quality of life.

The “Wheelchairs Foundation 2025” project is implemented by ADRA Ukraine with the support of the “Chair The Love” organization (USA). Within its borders, wheelchairs are handed over free of charge to people who need help with movement. Pastors of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who inform about the needs of communities in different regions, also join the distribution.

Logistics support is provided by “Nova Poshta”, which delivers up to 17 seats each month free of charge, and in some cases — provides a truck for large parties, especially in areas close to war zones.

* The term «veteran» is used exclusively for persons discharged from military service.
