ADRA Ukraine joined the JERU forum on the importance of livelihoods
A forum organized by JERU (Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine) was held at the Parkovy Congress Center in Kyiv by a joint initiative of the international organizations Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide. Representatives of ADRA Ukraine joined the event. The main theme of the event was the role of livelihoods — “Why livelihood matters” — in the context of current challenges for communities and the country.
During the discussions, the participants focused on several key areas:
— Why livelihoods matter: the need for systematic cooperation of the state, donors and local partners to restore the economy and support the people;
— Inclusivity and barrier-free in the rebuilding process, development of social entrepreneurship;
— The role of youth as a driver of change: investments in the new generation as a strategic condition for a sustainable future of Ukraine.
Maryna Potekha, head of the WFP project from ADRA Ukraine, who took part in the forum, shared her impressions:
“The event was really interesting — with current topics and live discussions. Networking became especially valuable: it was possible to communicate with representatives of other organizations, exchange experience and share ideas about potential joint projects”.
