ADRA Ukraine Presented Its Projects at the Ukrainian International Festival in the USA
For the tenth time, the Ukrainian International Festival took place in the United States. Its mission is to promote Ukrainian culture and strengthen ties between the Ukrainian community and the wider public of the region. The event traditionally brings together representatives of culture, art, business, spiritual leaders, and Ukrainian churches.
This year, the festival in Bellevue (a suburb of Seattle, Washington) also became a platform for presenting the work of the charitable organization ADRA Ukraine — the Ukrainian branch of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, which has been operating in Ukraine for over 30 years and has been providing assistance to those affected by the full-scale war for the past three years.
During the festival program, ADRA Ukraine representative Andrei Melniciuc, together with the youth from the Ukrainian Seventh-day Adventist Church of Washington State, presented the charitable organization. Visitors watched an informational video, received brochures, and learned more about humanitarian aid for Ukrainians in need. The youth also distributed brochures among festival participants and guests.
Andrei Melniciuc shared:
“In the morning it was rainy and windy, but by noon the weather cleared up and the park filled with people. At our booth, I showed a video about ADRA Ukraine’s projects, explaining the regions where the organization operates and the types of aid we provide. We talked about clean water supplies, food packages, housing restoration after shelling, as well as ADRA Ukraine’s rankings among charities — for example, 13th place in Forbes Ukraine’s list.
People came up to us, showed interest, took brochures, and asked questions. Meanwhile, the youth distributed brochures to everyone interested throughout the park.
It is important for us that people in America know about ADRA Ukraine and support our humanitarian projects. The brochures included a QR code linking to our website, so people can make donations. A few visitors even invited us to come separately and present the projects in their communities.”
The Ukrainian International Festival in Bellevue is not only a cultural program with performances by choirs, artists, and poets. It also features business presentations, children’s entertainment zones, and food courts. Every year, Ukrainian churches of different denominations — Adventists, Baptists, Pentecostals, and Orthodox — take part.
The festival in the Seattle suburb has become a symbol of unity for Ukrainians in the United States and, at the same time, an opportunity to share with a wider audience about humanitarian projects that are saving lives and helping rebuild Ukraine today.
