ADRA Ukraine provided psychological and legal support to the residents of the Dmytrivska community
Nataliia Konopkina and Sofiia Melnychuk, specialists of the charity organization ADRA Ukraine, visited the Dmytrivska village council in the Kyiv region. They provided psychological training and provided individual legal advice to 12 community residents and internally displaced persons living in the modular town. The event took place within the framework of the project with the support of Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), ADRA Czech Republic and ADRA Germany.
The main goal of the meeting was to overcome anxiety and emotional reassurance. Participants worked with special materials — clay and pastel: these textures make it possible to safely express inner experiences. Also through drawing, they gave space to their emotions to live them, express them and let them go. Such techniques help to stabilize the emotional state and find internal balance even in the darkest times.
Taras Didych, the head of the Dmytrivka village, expressed his sincere gratitude to philanthropists for implementing practices that help residents restore their internal resources and feel real support. «After all, a strong community begins with the resilience of every person, and mental health today is the ability to keep order, help one’s neighbor and believe in the future! Together we are strong — both body and spirit!»
Psychological problems often accumulate imperceptibly, affecting a person’s ability to face challenges. The government of Ukraine also draws attention to the need to provide psychological support. For example, the All-Ukrainian mental health program «Tu yak?» (EN: “How are you?”), initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, is currently actively developing. That is why humanitarian organizations include this component in their programmes. The visit of ADRA Ukraine psychologists to the Dmytrivska community is a practical embodiment of this important mission.
