Aid despite the risks: ADRA Ukraine continues to support the communities of the Kherson region
On February 23, the ADRA Ukraine team, as a partner of the UN World Food Programme, provided fresh bread to the residents of the Novovorontsovska community. This initiative is being implemented with the support of ADRA Switzerland.
Geography of assistance and results:
📍 Liubymivka village: 670 people received help. Despite the dangerous access roads and the constant threat of shelling and drones attacks, the delivery was made on time.
📍 Trudoliubivka village: fresh bread was distributed to 70 residents.
📍 Novovoskresenske village: 610 beneficiaries received support.
During the distribution, Novovoskresenske was threatened with a drone attack. Following the security protocols and recommendations of the local administration, ADRA temporarily suspended the distribution. As soon as the situation stabilized, the team resumed work and successfully completed the distribution.
«Humanitarian aid cannot be provided at the cost of human life». This is a key principle of our work. Every decision during departures is made with priority for the safety of residents and our employees.
Despite the difficult security situation, we continue to implement the food programme so that people in front-line communities continue to receive the necessary support.
