The TSN news program (Ukrainian television news service) featured a story about large-scale humanitarian aid from ADRA Slovakia and its partners. In less than a week, Slovakia managed to collect almost one million euros to support Ukrainians. With these funds, they bought generators and charging stations, the truck with which went to the Chernihiv region.

The collection of aid was started at the request of the Ukrainian embassy. On January 23, the Embassy of Ukraine in Bratislava appealed to local public and non-governmental organizations with a request to support the regions of Ukraine that were left without electricity and heat after massive shelling. ADRA Slovakia, together with its partners, promptly responded to the request and opened a public collection on the fundraising platform.

Initially, they planned to collect 500,000 euros, but in less than a week, caring people donated more than 930,000 euros.

The head of ADRA Slovakia, Stanislav Belik, notes:
«People in Slovakia are very supportive of this collection. These are not contributions from large companies, these are ordinary people who donate 5.20 euros. Thousands of people. We decided to purchase and transport generators to Ukraine. We delivered charging stations to the hospital, met with doctors — they were very grateful. We also visited people in their homes, saw the conditions in which they live without electricity. For the elderly, surviving the winter without proper heating is extremely difficult».

The purchased generators are planned to be handed over to critical infrastructure facilities, educational and health care facilities, and units that take care of points of invincibility. Representatives of the charitable organization note: if it is possible to attract additional funds, generators will be purchased for other cities of Ukraine.
