Children of one of the Sumy schools received New Year’s gifts thanks to funds collected by ADRA Ukraine
The charity organization donated 15,000 UAH for the purchase of New Year’s gifts for students of the “Clever School” private school in the city of Sumy. In total, 56 gifts were purchased with these funds.
The school hosted two festive events. The first was a Christmas holiday for 1–5th graders called «How the bear cub Umka was looking for Christmas». Children played games, sang songs, demonstrated their talents, and also remembered the story of the birth of Jesus Christ and the meaning of His coming into the world. During the joint prayer, the participants thanked God for love and salvation. The event was attended by 30 children who received New Year’s sweet sets. In addition, preschoolers — brothers and sisters of students were present at the celebration, for whom 9 sweet gifts were also prepared.
The second event was organized for students of grades 6–9 and was called «New Year’s Journey “Clever Express”». During the virtual journey, schoolchildren visited China, Brazil and Egypt. A special stop was Israel, where the chaplain of the school reminded the students of the miracle of the birth of the Savior and His mission on earth. The festive atmosphere was complemented by a joint meal — for students was bought pizza, and 17 teenagers received New Year’s kits of sweets.
The school administration expressed its sincere gratitude to ADRA Ukraine for its support and contribution to creating a festive mood for children who live every day in conditions of constant danger and threats due to the war.
