“Do you need two large gas boilers for the Ukrainian school?” – with such an unexpected proposal received from the University of Ostrava, another story of assistance began…
In the village of Sosnitsa in Chernihiv region there is an educational institution and a special school for children with various health and mental disorders. These children do not understand what war is and why missiles and drones fly over their heads. And here again – an air alarm. We saw how quickly they learned to hide in underground shelters. Wet basements have become a familiar environment for them – the school has installed bunk beds there, because children are often forced to spend the night in a shelter so that in case of danger they do not have to be urgently evacuated in the middle of the night.
Brave teachers and educators shared: “We try to play with them, laugh – as if everything is fine. After all, these unfortunate children do not even know what threat hangs over them. And then we go to the corner, cry – and continue to work. ”
We also smiled, tried to cheer them up. Although the heart contracted in pain…
Michailo, showed the alphabet of sign language to convey sincere gratitude from children with hearing and speech impairments. They gave us small handmade gifts. And I thought, “What are these kids guilty of? Have they not already suffered enough? ”
After 1,800 kilometers of road and long hours at customs, we delivered two large gas boilers with all the necessary equipment. Their power is perfect for school. We even transferred them to the boiler room on our own – through a narrow door. Two of the four old boilers have already failed, so the new equipment was a real salvation.
The director thanked with deep emotion: “Recently, we have received some important help from European countries – solar panels, a generator, training equipment… But these boilers are something special. Thanks to them, we will no longer be afraid of winter. Now the main thing is to find a sponsor who will help with connection and installation. ”
We leave the school with strong emotions. Without any doubts – all this has a deep meaning. We thank all donors and partners for their generosity, trust and dedication.
