Drones attacked the point of bread distribution in the Kherson region: a local volunteer received a concussion
On September 9, in the village of Vesele of Kakhovka district in the Kherson region, a local volunteer ADRA Ukraine distributed bread provided by the UN World Food Programme. The distribution had to be stopped when FPV-drones were noticed over the place of distribution. The attack occurred when a volunteer tried to put a bread machine in the garage. As a result of the explosion, he received a concussion, the car and bread burned.
Before this situation the bread delivered by the UN World Food Program and ADRA Ukraine from the bakery arrived in the village of Urozhayne. There, a local volunteer loaded bread into a car provided by a caring resident of the village of Apostolova specifically for the delivery of humanitarian aid. The distribution of bread in Vesele began around 14:30. When the villagers noticed FPV-drones, they suspended the distribution and hid in the summer kitchen. A car with bread was brought into the garage, the driver managed to close only one half of the garage gates. At this time, one FPV-drone flew into the garage, and the second hit the roof. As a result of this attack, the driver of the car received a concussion, the car, along with humanitarian aid, burned down. The destroyed car was the only vehicle transporting humanitarian aid for residents of the surrounding villages.
The villages of Vesele and Kozatske, which receive bread from the WFP, are located in the immediate vicinity of the destroyed Kakhovka hydroelectric station, each of them has 120 people.
