Generators for Odesa: official clarification on the generator situation from ADRA Slovakia
On February 26, ADRA Slovakia and its partners, through the mediation of ADRA Ukraine, delivered seven generators to the city of Odesa, which were brought from Slovakia. Six of them were unloaded at the warehouse of the utility company, and the seventh generator was taken to the location of the residential complex «Chudo-misto» (EN: Miracle town) for a photo report to Slovak partners. After the photo report, the generator was temporarily taken for technical inspection, as the local authorities do not have the right to install generators received from abroad without technical inspection. However, false information began to spread in some media accusing local authorities and ADRA of «black PR» and embezzlement of aid. The City Hall of Odessa officially denied all the allegations, noting that the generator would definitely return to the location after a technical inspection.
As reported by Telegram channel «Odesa. Official»: «Information distributed on the Internet is not true. Therefore, we provide official clarifications».
Currently, the residential complex «Chudo-misto» is equipped with generators of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), which have been working normally for several days. Their maintenance and refueling are carried out at the expense of the reserve budget fund.
Today, representatives of the ADRA Slovakia brought a new powerful generator, which is planned as a backup to provide electricity to the houses of «Chudo-mista».
In order to further operate the generator and connect it to electrical networks, it must, in accordance with the regulations, undergo sea trials.
Therefore, the generator was sent to the base of one of the utility companies for sea trials and testing. After the completion of these works, the generator will be returned to the site to provide electricity to the houses of «Chudo-misto.
