Guests from Denmark visited the communities of Mykolayiv region, where reconstruction and restoration projects are being implemented
From October 15 to 17, joint monitoring visits of representatives of ADRA Ukraine and ADRA Denmark teams took place in Mykolaiv. Together, the teams got acquainted with the results of the implementation of projects of the participants of the program “Community Initiatives Support” (SCLR) and the reconstruction of social infrastructure in the city and the region. NGOs whose initiatives were supported presented their projects and shared their experience of implementation. During the visit, the partners discussed further plans and possible development ideas.
In addition, representatives of ADRA Denmark visited educational institutions and bomb shelters in the Mykolaiv region, where the reconstruction of the premises was carried out. Particular attention was paid to checking the quality of the work performed and collecting feedback from local residents about the activities of ADRA Ukraine in their communities.
The delegation of ADRA Denmark was accompanied by a representative of the Danish Embassy Office. He got acquainted with the initiatives implemented by local communities. According to him, he was pleasantly impressed, in particular, by the progress of repair and arrangement of the premises of the Union of Persons with Disabilities in Mykolaiv, which received grant funding for this purpose.
As ADRA Ukraine employees emphasize, small villages and communities of Mykolaiv region were the first to meet the full-scale invasion and suffered the most from its consequences, so it is extremely important to restore not only large cities, but also small settlements.
