In Khmelnitsky schoolchildren were taught to take care of emotions through creativity
On May 16, students of the private school “Dzherelo Mudrosti” (EN: Source of Wisdom) visited the ADRA Ukraine Protection and Support Center in the city of Khmelnitsky. For them, with the support of the Swedish charity Radiohjälpen and ADRA Sweden, they held an event with a bright psychological direction, combining elements of enlightenment, emotional support and creative expression.
The focus is training with elements of the mental track, dedicated to the relationship of mental and physical health. In an accessible, interactive form, children were told how emotions affect the body, and physical well-being – on mood and stress level. This approach contributes to the development of emotional intelligence, self-observation and self-regulation skills from an early age.
A special place was taken by the creative stage – the manufacture of crafts in the form of ice cream. From a psychological point of view, this is not only art therapy, but also a way to create a safe space for expressing emotions through symbols. Ice cream is associated with ease, pleasant memories, summer mood and helps to evoke positive emotions, reducing anxiety and improving the psycho-emotional state.
The event was an important step towards the formation of children’s conscious attitude to their mental and physical well-being, the development of self-care skills and the search for internal resources through creativity and communication.
