In Kyiv, students with visual impairments learned to manage emotions together with ADRA Ukraine
On May 14, in the Special School No. 4 of the Obolonsky district of Kyiv (Pushcha-Vodytsa), a psychological training “How to cope with negative emotions” was organized by the ADRA Ukraine team. The event was attended by 18 seventh graders – children with visual impairments.
The training was conducted by Natalia Konopkina, a psychologist at ADRA Ukraine. In an accessible and playful way, students learned about emotional thinking, learned detective thinking, which helps to find a realistic, adaptive thought that affects the state, mood and behavior. They also learned to apply self-regulation exercises and find their own resources.
A special moment was a creative exercise: participants made a symbolic craft about their internal resource, choosing colored paper in accordance with their own emotional state.
The event was held within the framework of the project with the support of ADRA Sweden and the Radiohjälpen charity organization.
