More than 150 people underwent trainings on psychosocial support in the Dnipropetrovsk region
In Dnipropetrovsk region, a six-day cycle of group trainings on psychosocial support, organized by the ADRA Ukraine Protection Center in Dnipro within the “MHWP” project, implemented with the assistance of the Government of Canada and ADRA Canada, was completed.
Trainings were held on the topic: “How to deal with anxiety during the war. Methods of self-regulation. ” The event was aimed at supporting internally displaced persons and residents of the city, who face daily psychological stress due to constant anxiety and explosions.
Facilitator Olena Melnyk provided participants with simple self-support tools available to people without psychological education. Participants learned to recognize manifestations of anxiety, regulate their condition with breathing exercises and bodily grounding, and also found support in a safe group space.
In total, 157 people aged 15 and older took part in the trainings, which took place in the cities of Dnipro and Kamyanske.
At the end of the event, the participants received important knowledge on the provision of primary pre-medical assistance in conditions of military conflict – an extremely relevant topic in modern conditions.
Olena shared this knowledge with the participants, because she is a certified first aid trainer. Such skills are especially important now, when a timely reaction can save lives even before the arrival of doctors.
The training cycle has become a significant contribution to strengthening the psycho-emotional and physical stability of the people of the region.
