“People met us with tears” – volunteers have delivered food assistance to residents of isolated settlements in Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
Within the framework of ADRA Ukraine project, with the support of the UN World Food Program, as of today, the project on distribution of food assistance is implemented in settlements of Kherson and Kharkiv regions. Food kits with a total weight of 17 kg have been received by residents of Derhachi, Guta settlement, Starytsa village, Rzhavets village in Kharkiv region and Velyka Oleksandrivka village and Velyka Lepetykha village in Kherson region. These settlements were isolated for a long time, and now they are in a critical humanitarian situation due to impossibility of regular deliveries of food, etc.
Olha, a volunteer, says: “The road to Velyka Oleksandrivka village was terrible, completely destroyed, in some places it was completely impossible to pass, or only through fields, so we had sappers with us, who were driving ahead… and we were going very slowly and carefully for more than five kilometers, we even punctured the wheels twice. People met us with tears, they were happy to receive everything that we brought…”
