In February, in the Territorial Center of Social Services of the city of Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region), ADRA Ukraine specialist held an event with elements of art therapy «Plasticine harmony» for the elderly. The event took place within the framework of the “MHWP” project with the support of the Government of Canada and ADRA Canada.

The purpose of the class, which was conducted by facilitator Zlata Khudyakova, was to create a safe creative space for emotional relief of participants, reduce the level of stress and internal tension, and maintain a positive psycho-emotional state. During the event, participants created plasticine paintings on paper, conveying their own feelings and mood through colors and shapes.

From the first minutes of the meeting, a warm, friendly atmosphere prevailed. Gradually, the participants relaxed, smiles and sincere communication appeared. People shared their impressions with interest, supported each other and rejoiced at the results of their work.

Upon completion of the class, most participants noted an improvement in mood, a sense of inner peace, and satisfaction with their own work. The event contributed to the reduction of emotional tension, activation of positive experiences, development of fine motor skills and maintenance of cognitive activity. The sense of cohesion, social inclusion and significance of each participant became especially valuable.
