Pupils of the Lyceum “Zhyve Slovo” learned about work in the media sphere from an employee of the TV channel “Hope.UA”
In February, in the private lyceum “Zhyve Slovo” (EN: “The Living Word”), that located in the Lviv city, as part of the project of the school radio laboratory, a meeting was held with Mykhailo Philip – the manager of the Western Media Center of the TV channel “Hope.UA”. The guest shared his experience in the world of television and radio broadcasting, and also told the students about the backstage of the media industry. The event was held thanks to the project “Recovery with Love III” with the support of Marienhöhe Schulzentrum the Germany School and ADRA Deutschland, which provided an opportunity for students to gain valuable experience and inspiration for future development in the media sphere.
Mykhailo’s story was fascinating, full of interesting facts and practical advice for those who want to try themselves in this area. Students learned how television and radio work, how various programs are created, and how media affect our daily lives. Mykhailo drew attention to the importance of a critical approach to the consumption of media content, warning against information overload, and also introduced students to the term “brainrot,” which describes the negative impact of excessive information on cognitive processes.
The meeting aroused keen interest among the students: they asked a lot of questions, trying to learn more about working in the media sphere, as well as how to become part of this industry. Mykhailo Philip answered all the questions, providing specific advice for those who dream of a career in television or radio.
Such events, according to the teachers of the Lyceum, become an important experience for students, because they not only introduce new professions, but also help to develop critical thinking, social skills and motivation for self-development. Such meetings motivate young people to new discoveries and help them find their own way in the modern media space.
