In the village of Pavlivka, Mykolaiv region, the «Silskyi Hub» (EN: Rural Hub) project was implemented thanks to a grant received as part of the Community Initiative Support program implemented by ADRA Ukraine with the support of Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and ADRA Denmark in a consortium with DanChurchAid.

«Rural Hub» is an initiative of the public organization «Epoha Vidrodjenia» (EN: Age of Revival), aimed at repairing and furnishing premises in an abandoned cultural center that has not functioned for about 30 years. Thanks to grant support, necessary repair work was been completed, necessary furniture and equipment were purchased. Today, it is a renewed space where local residents gather — events, holidays, meetings and joint initiatives take place.

One of the first events at «Rural Hub» was an embroidery exhibition by local craftswoman Olena Zvozkova, — a fifth-generation embroiderer. She also held a master class for visitors. The event gathered about 12 residents of the village.

It is important that the repair work for the arrangement of the hub was carried out by the residents of Pavlivka themselves on a volunteer basis. Therefore, the grant funds were directed exclusively to building materials and furnishing the premises. This testifies to the community’s interest in the project and its real value for the life of the village.
