The humanitarian mission of ADRA Ukraine and the UN WFP was subjected to a drone attack in the Kherson region
During the delivery of humanitarian aid to residents of the Kherson region, the ADRA Ukraine truck was attacked by an enemy FPV drone. The incident occurred on May 16 in the village of Urozhaine in Beryslavskyi District, while unloading food kits from the UN World Food Programme. As a result of the attack, no one was injured, but the car and part of the cargo were damaged.
On the morning of this day, the truck of the charitable organization ADRA Ukraine, loaded with food kits, set off from the city of Kryvyi Rih to the Kherson region. Assistance was intended for residents of the Beryslav community. Volunteers managed to deliver and unload about 380 food kits in three settlements of the Beryslavskyi district. The last delivery point was the village of Urozhayne – the assistance was intended for both local residents and residents of the city of Beryslav.
However, around 11:30 during the unloading of the kits, the truck was attacked by an FPV drone. The drone aimed at the cabin, but hit part of the car body behind the driver. Fortunately, none of the people were injured, but the vehicle and part of the humanitarian cargo were damaged.
Despite the shelling, the car remained on the move. The driver quickly left the place of the attack, evacuating remained food kits. It was impossible to continue the unloading due to the danger of repeated attacks – other drones remained in the air.
Now the driver is heading back to Kryvyi Rih. There, experts will evaluate the technical condition of the damaged transport and the preserved part of the cargo.
