An event on the topic «Restoration of own resources» was held at the Center for Protection and Support of ADRA Ukraine in the city of Dnipro. It was conducted by the center’s psychologist Maryna Nikolenko as part of the “MHWP” project with the support of the Government of Canada and ADRA Canada.

During the meeting, the participants talked about what internal resources are, how to recognize, maintain and restore them in everyday life. Special attention was paid to the practices of complacency, working with negative experiences and ways to save energy for important things.

Through practical exercises, participants recalled positive events from their lives, shared their own experiences in groups and discussed what exactly helps them regain strength. This is important, because in difficult periods, negative events are often mentioned faster than good ones, and a person needs simple, understandable tools to return to a state of balance.

Together, the participants determined how emotional exhaustion can be prevented, what actions help to be filled with internal resources, and why it is important not to wait for complete burnout, but to support yourself regularly.

Caring for yourself — is not weakness or selfishness. It is a foundation that helps to persevere, recover and, if necessary, have the strength to support others.
