The UN WFP and ADRA Ukraine refute false information about cash payments
The media spread information that the charitable organization ADRA Ukraine plans to introduce cash payments for residents of the Izyum district of the Kharkiv region in the amount of UAH 1,500 monthly instead of food assistance. It is alleged that for this purpose the organization collects bank card IBAN’s of residents within the framework of the Transitional Cash Assistance program. Please be informed that this information is not reliable. After all, the “Transitional Cash Assistance,” which the UN World Food Program (WFP) implemented together with ADRA Ukraine in some regions of Ukraine (at the choice of the UN WFP), is not being implemented today. Thus, in new communities the program of transition to cash payments does not occur. In the Izyum district, ADRA Ukraine continues to provide assistance from the UN WFP in the form of food kits. The fact that beneficiaries at distribution points report their IBAN is a new form of information collection for the UN WFP, but this does not imply cash payments in the Izyum district, in addition, it is not even mandatory to report the IBAN. Consequently, citizens of the district will continue to receive assistance from the UN WFP and ADRA Ukraine in the form of food products.
Also, some social networks spread false information about “payments of UAH 5 000 for the winter period” allegedly from ADRA Ukraine to “all citizens of Ukraine without exception.” Please note that none of the links in this message leads to the official website of the ADRA Ukraine (https://www.adra.ua/), but instead leads to unknown (obviously fraudulent) resources. ADRA Ukraine encourages you to be careful not to succumb to the calls of fraudsters and check all information only on the official website of ADRA Ukraine.
