The UN WFP and ADRA Ukraine support residents of Velikyi Burluk with food aid
The ADRA Ukraine team distributed food kits from the UN World Food Programme with the support of ADRA Swirzerland to residents of the village of Velikyi Burluk, Kharkiv region. During the three days — from January 21 to 23 — about 900 food kits were distributed here.
Earlier, in December, another 1,000 kits were distributed in the same settlement. In Velikyi Burluk, food aid is received by all residents without exception.
The urban-type village of Velikiy Burluk is located approximately 20 kilometers from the front line and regularly suffers from shelling. Previously, ADRA Ukraine provided more than 1,500 food kits here, but after the forced evacuation, some families with children left, and the number of residents decreased.
In addition to the constant security threat, Velikyi Burluk faces long-term power outages — electricity may not be available for more than a day, which greatly complicates people’s daily lives.
