The charitable organization ADRA Ukraine transferred 100 000 UAH for repair work ongoing at the “Zorya Nadiyi” training and rehabilitation center in the city of Kremenets, Ternopil region. The center was founded by the NGO “Zorya Nadiyi” in order to assist children rehabilitation, youth with disabilities, veterans, families of war dead, as well as other people affected by the war. Now the construction of the large premises of the center, which began in 2021, is being completed. Thanks to people’s funds donated to ADRA Ukraine, it was possible to purchase and install floor coverings.

Alla Andrushchuk, the head of the “Zorya Nadiyi” and the ideological founder of the center, comments:

“Today in Ukraine there are thousands of people with disabilities, many of them are in hospitals, others will return from the war. Our center is created for everyone who needs rehabilitation. Children and young people, as well as everyone who needs support, will receive help here. Psychologists, rehabilitologists, physical therapists, teachers and social workers will work with them.

The founders of this center are five people, among whom I am a mother of children with disabilities, as well as two more mothers of children with disabilities. We want the rehabilitation center “Zorya Nadiyi” to become one of the best institutions where people will work and provide support with love for God and people. We strive to combine training, socialization and rehabilitation in one place. Our goal is to help affected people adapt to a new life after the war. We are already working with people with disabilities and displaced persons. Now we have about 200 people with whom we will work until the end of the year. The state provided us with funding for two months to implement three projects: providing in-kind assistance, socialization, mental rehabilitation and day care for people with disabilities.

Repair work in the building is still ongoing, additional funding is needed, and we are actively seeking funds for completion. A significant amount of work has already been done: stairs and paving stones have been built, but there are still efforts to be made. Now we are engaged in the arrangement of the boiler room, which we hope to launch until winter comes. We also plan to connect the gas heating system and install a ventilation system. To complete all the work, we still need about 1.5 million UAH. However, we plan to open the center from November 1, although not yet at full capacity – first we need to complete the work with ventilation and heating.

Recently, our team visited Romania, where we got acquainted with the work of Adventist and community rehabilitation centers. We adopted experience to understand how to better implement our ideas and find resources to be independent of public funding and do a significant job for society.

We are sincerely grateful to ADRA Ukraine and all the involved people for the assistance provided, which allowed us to perform part of the repair work, and we hope for further successful cooperation. “
