The project of emergency food aid to the affected population of Ukraine is actively implemented with the support of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) and ADRA Ukraine. Last week in Odesa, volunteers began to distribute food kits to citizens. The event was attended by representatives of humanitarian organizations (WFP and ADRA Ukraine), as well as TV channels “Nadiya”, CNL and others.
The food kit consists of rice, pasta, sunflower oil, canned meat and other products. It is designed for a month and has a total weight of 17.5 kg. During the week in Odessa region, 376 such food kits have been distributed.
In the framework of the project another area of assistance – the distribution of bread to those in need is implemented. Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia regions receive tons of fresh bread daily. This assistance is provided to city administrations, social centers, hospitals, accommodation centers of IDPs and volunteer centers. Bread is also delivered to the most remote settlements where help is rarely delivered.
Last week, food aid was delivered to two more regions, Mykolaiv and Kyiv, where people received pasta and sunflower oil.
In total in Mykolaiv 46 731 tons of products have been distributed. And in Kyiv region, 23.9 tons of products have been distributed.
