A young Zhytomyr woman created a poster in support of the mental health of children
May 7 is World Mental Health Awareness Day. The youth of Zhytomyr, visiting the center for protection and support of ADRA Ukraine, actively joined this initiative. One of the participants decided to draw attention to the importance of the emotional well-being of children by creating her own social poster.
Every Wednesday in the center in Zhytomyr city there are meetings for young people – a space for friendly communication, spiritual growth and mutual support. They have become a place where useful ideas and good deeds are born. One of these initiatives was the work of Ivanna – the girl created a poster called “My psychological rights.” Its purpose is to remind children that their feelings matter and the right to support is inalienable.
As the psychologist of the center notes: “It is very important that children feel good not only physically, but also emotionally. When we talk about mental health, we mean their feelings, mood and ability to cope with life’s difficulties. Ivanna’s poster is a reminder that every child has the right to be happy and receive help when they need it. ”
Psychological assistance at the ADRA Ukraine protection and support center in the city of Zhytomyr is provided with the support of ADRA Sweden and the “Radiohjälpen” charity organization.
