Food and financial assistance, training for children, joint events with colleagues from other countries — results of activities of ADRA Ukraine during the week
The emergency food assistance project of ADRA Ukraine with the support of the UN World Food Program (WFP) is ongoing. Today, tens of thousands of people in 10 regions of Ukraine have the opportunity to receive necessary food products, including settlements that were isolated for a long time. Taking into account the indicators of the assistance that was provided this week, about 12,549,575 loaves of bread and more than 1,647,430 food kits of various purposes have been distributed during the entire period of the project implementation.
The direction of financial assistance within several projects has reached new heights. Now the stage of verification of accepted applications and payment is being implemented. As of today, more than 29,800 people have already received financial assistance. The total amount of payments is UAH 198,554,580.
Within the socio-psychological direction of ADRA Ukraine project, with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), on October 18, a training for children took place in Poltava with the participation of Yuliia Pryimak, a Psychologist. The purpose of the training was to correct feeling of anxiety and fear of children who, together with their families, live in a shelter for internally displaced people in this city. Participants performed various tasks and learned to create a sense of safety and security.
ADRA Ukraine employees regularly exchange experience with colleagues from around the world through workshops and joint events. In September, representatives of ADRA Canada and ADRA Germany visited ADRA Ukraine team. Thanks to the visit of colleagues from ADRA Slovakia, food assistance was provided to internally displaced people in Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions. On October 3, a workshop called “After Action Review” took place in Kyiv. The team determined effectiveness of activities of the charitable organization during the military conflict, analyzed implemented activities and forecast new ones. Robert Patton, an analyst and representative of ADRA International, shared his experience and advice during the event.
