On April 29, at the ADRA Ukraine Protection and Support Center in the city of Kryvyi Rih, that located in Dnipropetrovsk Region, a training was held for everyone on the topic “Sincere Communication Skills.” The event aimed to help participants learn to take responsibility for choosing according to their values, accept themselves, support themselves in complex emotional states and communicate without judgment.

The training was held within the “MHWP project” with the support of the Government of Canada and ADRA Canada. Classes were conducted by psychologist Oleh Yaroshenko and facilitator Daria Kravets.

The participants of the training mastered a number of important skills. They learned to take responsibility for their own lives, realizing that our decisions are a reflection of our values, and no one else is obliged to be responsible for our choices. We considered how to find harmony between the ideal image of oneself and reality, determining what can be changed and what should be accepted. We realized how comparison with others prevents us from being sincere, and gained the skills to build a dialogue without condemnation. We learned how to support ourselves in moments of sadness through the practice of self-compassion. They have mastered the techniques of calming and restoring emotional balance, which help to remain stable even in difficult life situations.
