On December 16, two psychological events were held at the ADRA Ukraine Protection and Support Center in Khmelnitsky, organized with the support of the Swedish charitable organization Radiohjälpen and ADRA Sweden.

For 12 residents of the city, ADRA Ukraine psychologist Olena Ninik conducted a training on a topic “External and internal human supports.” Participants learned that external supports are mostly material things, such as money, work, houses, as well as family relationships. However, these supports can be lost. Instead, inner pillars such as faith, knowledge, life experience, memory, talent, and education are more resilient. Participants of the training mastered techniques that help to develop inner strength, because it allows to restore external well-being.

Also an educational and information event “Mentality” was held for children aged 7-9 years. In a format understandable to children, the psychologist explained the importance of mental health, emotions and feelings. Using the scale of emotions, children analyzed their own emotional state. Also there were exercises aimed at turning negativity into positivity – through drawing doodles and creating bright paper comets.

These activities were an important step in maintaining the psychological health of the community, helping both adults and children find harmony and strength for development.
