The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas visited the village Berdyanske in the Donetsk region as part of his visit to eastern Ukraine. The OSCE Center in Mariupol organized a meeting of the Minister with local citizens and officials, and also invited ADRA Ukraine to join and distribute drinking water to the inhabitants of Berdyanske.
This was the first time of water distribution in Berdyanske as part of the project “Repair and relief services for people affected by the crisis in Eastern Ukraine”.
In general, almost 4,000 liters of water (650 6-liter bottles) were distributed to 120 people.
The distribution of water to the cities in the Donetsk region along the separation line will continue under the project by the end of the year. The project is implemented by ADRA Ukraine and ADRA Germany with the financial support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
