During a visit to ADRA Japan, ADRA Ukraine representative highlighted the importance of psychosocial support for Ukrainians
Mariia Pistriuha, Development and Partnership Manager at ADRA Ukraine, visited the ADRA Japan office in Tokyo. During the meeting, she expressed gratitude to the partners for their ongoing support of Ukraine and joined discussions on opportunities for further cooperation and the expansion of joint humanitarian programs.
Since 2022, Japan has been providing significant support to Ukrainians. Through the partnership between ADRA Japan and ADRA Ukraine, with the support of the Japan Platform, several programs have been implemented to assist people in need. These include the provision of psychosocial support, fuel briquettes for heating, and gifts for children that bring warmth and a sense of care during difficult times.
Mariia Pistriuha also took part in the filming of a video about Ukraine, which the Japanese team is preparing for donor audiences.
“I expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the people of Ukraine and ADRA Ukraine for the continued support and long-standing partnership. I emphasized that psychological assistance remains one of the most important needs of Ukrainians today. The war has brought much pain and stress, so supporting mental health is extremely important. We also briefly discussed potential programs for veterans* and people with disabilities,” she said.
* The term “veteran” is used exclusively for persons discharged from military service.
