In Chernihiv, teachers mastered the skills of providing psychological first aid
On April 9, in the city of Chernihiv, for teachers of the Center for Work with Children and Youth at the place of residence, ADRA Ukraine specialists held a lecture with elements of the training on the topic “Psychological First Aid”. The goal of the event was to teach teachers to effectively support people in a state of stress caused by crisis events. The event was held within the framework of the MHWP project with the support of the Government of Canada and ADRA Canada. It was attended by 22 people.
ADRA Ukraine psychologist Yulia Bohush, together with facilitator Vladyslava Voilo, focused on the importance of psychological first aid in today’s conditions. The training participants studied self-soothing and grounding techniques – tools that help return a person to the “here and now” at a time of strong emotions, depression or panic attacks.
Teachers actively participated in practical exercises and noted the value of the knowledge gained for everyday life and professional activities.
