Residents of Zolochiv regularly receive food kits from the UN WFP with the assistance of ADRA Switzerland and ADRA Ukraine
On November 24, another distribution of food aid from the UN World Food Programme (WFP) took place in the city of Zolochiv that located in Bogodukhiv district of Kharkiv region. The organization of logistics and distribution on the spot is provided by ADRA Ukraine as a partner of WFP with the support of ADRA Switzerland.
This distribution is part of a four-day cycle: several separate locations from three to four are open every day to reach as many residents as possible.
Distribution in Zolochiv is carried out within the framework of regular support: every month, community residents receive more than 2,300–2,500 food kits depending on the needs and number of households that meet the vulnerability criteria.
Assistance is provided in the targeted distribution format. This means that the kits are not received by everyone, but only by those households that belong to the defined categories of vulnerability according to the WFP criteria. If a person belongs to such a category, then all members of his household receive a food kit.
The Zolochiv community continues to be one of the most affected in the — region, shelling and arrivals are regularly recorded here. The scale of destruction in the city and surrounding villages indicates the difficult conditions in which the inhabitants live. In such a situation, stable food support is vital, especially for vulnerable categories of the population.
