IDP shelters in three cities of Ukraine have started to receive the assistance from ADRA Ukraine
Due to the war in Ukraien, which has been ongoing for over a year, thousands of people were forced to leave their homes and look for a safer place to stay. In July, ADRA Ukraine has started funding of three shelters for internally displaced persons as part of the LEAP project supported by the Canadian Government. These establishments are located in Dnipro, Lviv and Chernivtsi.
The shelter in Dnipro receives IDPs from Mariupol, while the establishment in Chernivtsi is focused on supporting women and children from high-risk groups. The shelter in Lviv acts as a transit center for temporarily accommodation of IDPs. Thanks to the financial assistance provided by the charitable organization, the residents of these shelters will get access to meals, utilities and psychological support.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, ADRA Ukraine has already provided support to over 3,000 people as part of the IDP collective center assistance direction.
