The Borys Voznytsky Charitable Foundation’s Support and Protection Center in Lviv, as part of the ADRA Ukraine’s project supported by the Government of Canada, employs a qualified specialist who provides mental health support to adults and children affected by the war. Every day, the psychologist conducts individual consultations or group sessions based on specific needs. Each shelter resident may have up to 10 therapy sessions to address various psychological issues. Over 200 beneficiaries have already received counseling services over the course of six months.

Due to the full-scale invasion, many Ukrainians have been forced to leave their behind homes and have become internally displaced persons. Now, most of them need mental helath support. The most pressing issues that the psychologist has to work with are grief, loss, and panic attacks due to stress. Since the shelter run by Voznytsky Foundation is a transit center for IDPs, the issues of going abroad and relations between relatives who are forced to separate are the most painful and require professional support.
