As part of the GFFO project supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and ADRA Germany, free-of-charge social bus trips are offered to residents of Stepne Community in Zaporizhzhia District of Zaporizhzhia Region. The route includes six localities, so the residents may get access to the critical infrastructure. Over the entire project duration, a total of 3 224 community residents have used the social bus service since October 2022.

This transport assistance is provided by ADRA Ukraine charitable organization upon request by Stepne village community, the population of which is around 6 thousand people, including almost 400 IDPs. Due to ongoing hostilities and location close to the line of contact, conventional transport is not available in this community, which results in a consistent need for free-of-charge social buses. The bus trips are scheduled twice a week, each Tuesday and each Thursday. The route includes such localities as Stepne, Shevchenkivske, Novostepnianske, Lezhyne, Natalivla, Rostushche.

As part of the GFFO project, the social buses also operate in other regions. For example, in Shyroke Community, Zaporizhzhia Region, the transport assistance covers 26 localities, and 2 472 people have used the transport service since October 2022. In Apostolove and Zelenodolsk communities, Kryvyi Rih District, Dnipro Region, we operate 9 social bus routes for 18 localities, and 6 679 people have used the transport service since October 2022. Social bus services for 15 localities in Nova Vorontsovka Community, Kherson Region, were launched in December 2022, and since then 3 617 people have used ADRA’s transportation assistance in that area.
